Message from MD

Dear Student,

Welcome to Gaborone Institute of Professional Studies (GIPS)!! As you know, GIPS offers internationally recognized programmes of high quality. I am delighted that you have chosen to further your educational foundation here.

You are here primarily to learn. This will require commitment on your part to your studies. At this level you are expected to do self-directed learning and assist your lecturers to know the best ways they can support you in your studies. You have my personal commitment that everything possible will be done to assure your academic success.

You will be inspired, challenged, informed, stretched and encouraged by our staff who are committed to teaching and learning excellence. I encourage you to tap into their knowledge and skills through engaging in conversations with in and out of class.
You should also take the opportunity to learn from your peers through discussions in class, study groups and even in casual social interactions. Shared knowledge and life experiences give valuable insights on academic and other aspects of life.

I encourage you to become involved with the various student organisations. There are several and you can even work to have others to be formed if you find that student organisations of your particular interest are absent at present. Participation in student organisation and student events in general will enrich your student life experience.

Any learning environment requires that there should be an orderly way of conducting things. You will find therefore that there are policies, rules and regulations that apply here at GIPS. It is therefore  necessary for you to know these know these and make your input to ensuring that GIPS has an orderly  and friendly atmosphere that is conducive to teaching and learning.
