History of GIPS
Gaborone Institute of Professional Studies (GIPS) is one of the leading premiers Tertiary Educational Institution with a motto of “EXCELLENCE IN HIGHER LEARNING”. It was established in the year 1991 by Mr. A.P. SINGH with a view to provide quality based education in Botswana. Currently it has two more branches one in Lobatse and another one in Francis town. The Institute is accredited with various International Bodies like AAT-UK; ABE-UK; LCM; CITY & GUILDS; PITMAN and NCC Education. Besides that the Institute is also accredited by Botswana Training Authority (BOTA) for Certificate programmers and Tertiary Education Council (TEC) for Diploma and Degree programmes. Both BOTA and TEC continuously monitoring the performance of the Institute with their norms and standards to ensure value based education and training to the citizens of Botswana. The monitoring includes Annual Reports and Verification Visits. GIPS have pledged to contribute towards the achievement of vision 2016 of making Botswana an “EDUCATED AND INFORMED NATION”. GIPS is committed to contributing towards the accomplishment of vision 2016 through their MISSION and VISION such as evidenced by the MISSION and VISION statement.
